Why does my tallow feel gritty/grainy?
- Grittines in tallow is part of the natural cooling down process. They are just specks of fat and will melt quickly into your skin. If your jar is too gritty reach out to us and we can walk you through how to remedy it.
Why does your tallow vary in color?
- Color variations can occur from essential oils or the oil used to blend with the tallow. This my change due to availability of supplies or finding a superior ingredient and upgrading our formulas.
Does tallow go bad?
- Yes. Our tallow doesn’t contain any preservatives. It’s important you use clean and dry hands to reduce introducing bacteria into your jar. If you tallow smells or looks “off”, throw it out. Try to use your tallow within a few months.
Is tallow safe for babies, pregnancy, breastfeeding?
- Yes! However, it is important to note which essential oils are used in each formulation. Please talk to your doctor and use your own discretion. We use essential oils at a low dilution rate to help prevent skin irritation. Personally, I only use our unscented “Gentle” on my newborns and skin irritations like diaper rashes.
Where do you get your supplies?
- I love and appreciate transparency in companies. If you have any questions, I’m happy to disclose more details. It is my goal to source the cleanest ingredients possible.
How do you make your tallow?
- Our formulations are proprietary and we do not disclose our exact formulas. We make all of our products in small batches, taking special precautions to keep our products clean and safe.
How can I make whipped tallow at home?
- As as the use of tallow has became more popular, we often get asked for exact steps on how to make whipped tallow at home. Our formulation has been years of trial, error and research, that we are not comfortable freely giving up, as this is our business. We do encourage you and empower you to dive in and try it yourself!
